Get messy at Goop Fest 2017, May 20-21

Things are getting messy at Liberty Science Center!

This weekend, Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21, we’re throwing our annual Goop Fest event. Come learn about polymers in the messiest, most fun way possible: with slime! During this event, you’ll get to play with different types of slime, and even make your own using safe, everyday ingredients.

One of the types of slime you’ll get to play with is oobleck slime (made of water and corn starch). It’s a non-Newtonian fluid, meaning it’s a fluid that behaves differently depending on the force put upon it. For example, it may appear slimy and liquidy on your hand, but if you throw it, it will become firm and solid upon hitting its target.

As always, make sure to share photos of your gooey creations online with us using the hashtag #LibertyScienceCenter. See you this weekend!
