Last summer, guests loved digging for fossils in our incredibly popular Dino Dig exhibit.
We’re thrilled to announce that Dino Dig is returning for another incredible season! (If you’ve visited LSC recently, you may have picked up on a pretty big clue: the Brontosaurus outside our building).
This time, Dino Dig will be bigger and better than ever. Plus, it’s got an even cooler name: Jack Horner’s Dino Dig.
At Jack Horner’s Dino Dig, you’ll get to uncover massive dinosaur bones by digging through 35 tons of sand. Look for over 50 late Cretaceous fossils, replicas of those discovered in Montana by Jack Horner, the famed paleontologist who inspired Jurassic Park.
In your journey, you might uncover T. rex bones and teeth, an egg nest with a baby Maiasaurus, a 6-foot long Triceratops skull, and even a dragonfly fossil! Uncover a specimen, and then figure out what insect, animal, or plant it represents.
Jack Horner’s Dino Dig opens July 1 and runs through September 4. Keep checking back here on the LSC blog, as well as on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for behind-the-scenes photos and updates.
(Note: Kids wearing dinosaur-themed clothing can save $5 on child admission tickets while the exhibit is here! Just ask at the Box Office when you arrive. Good for up to 4 children per transaction).
