Making hand lotion for a Mother's Day gift

There are going to be some very lucky mothers this Mother's Day!

This Saturday, May 11, kids are invited to join us here at LSC and make a Mother's Day gift in our BASF's Kids' Lab. In this chemistry workshop, kids will mix oil and water to create hand lotion that's yours to keep.

The workshop will be held at 12:15 pm and 2:15 pm. The activity is free with general admission to LSC, but due to space, tickets must be picked up at the Box Office at least 30 minutes before your session.

We caught a few of our LSC team members trying the experiment for themselves, mixing oil, water, emulsifiers, and fragrances to create their own hand lotion. Just a few of the different fragrances to choose from include pine needle, cinnamon, rosemary, and lavender. Check it out:
