Liberty Science Center debuts LSC After Dark 21+ parties
Last night, the hottest club in New Jersey was right here at Liberty Science Center. With great success, we launched our first LSC After Dark party, a brand new series for guests 21 and over (yup, leave the kids with a babysitter for this one).
More than 1,500 adults showed up to the event, which included cocktails, food, a dance floor, a Prince laser show and access to all the exhibits in the building, such as the Touch Tunnel, Rock Wall and Infinity Climber.
Our first After Dark party was themed “Dancing with Drones.” Throughout the evening, guests watched as professional drone pilots performed tricks in the drone cage. Jersey City artist TechnoChic was in attendance to help partiers make wearable, light-up souvenirs. Guests also got to dance and take photos with our resident droid, R2D2.
LSC partnered with Jersey City blogger Lynn Hazan, also known as “CHICpeaJC.” As the official LSC After Dark Ambassador, Lynn got everyone to bust a move on the dance floor. She was joined by Jersey City locals DJ Stadium Status and emcee Haytham Elgawly, who both kept the building bumping throughout the night.
In the massive IMAX Dome theater, guests enjoyed our new Prince laser show, which included hits from the The Artist such as “Cream,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Purple Rain” and “1999.” In the nights leading up to the party, Prince’s love symbol was projected on the dome for motorists to see when driving on the turnpike.
There were multiple mouth-watering food options on the After Dark menu, such as beef sliders, flatbreads, chicken and waffles and chocolate mousse tartlets. Bartenders also served a smoking Electric Lemonade during happy hour.
During the party, guests could see their photos projected on a giant screen every time they posted to Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #LSCAfterDark.
