Watch the speeches from this year's LSC Genius Gala

LSC News

We had a great time this year at our annual Genius Gala! The building was packed with some of the world's greatest minds who offered their opinions and insight on the future of science, technology, and education.

At this year's Gala, we awarded three incredible individuals in the STEM field: Katherine Johnson, the former NASA mathematician and subject of the Oscar-nominated film Hidden Figures; inventor Ray Kurzweil, who has been described as "the rightful heir to Thomas Edison"; and SpotMini – our very first robot honoree – and his carbon-based enabler, Marc Raibert, the CEO and founder of Boston Dynamics.

All of their speeches are now available to enjoy on our YouTube page. Check them out!

1) Katherine Johnson (Note: Johnson's daughter, Joylette Gobel Hylick, accepted the award and gave a speech on her mother's behalf)

2) SpotMini, followed by Marc Raibert:

3) Ray Kurzweil

4) Bonus! Cyber illusionist Marco Tempest performed an illuminating drone show at the Gala that's definitely worth watching:
