On May 17 and 18, 2025, Liberty Science Center welcomed the 4th Annual American Robotics Invitational – FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge 2025, themed “SUBMERGED℠.” As a bonus to their general admission, guests got a front-row seat to a showcase of STEM talent and creativity.
52 elite teams from across the U.S. were nominated by their Program Delivery Partners after excelling at Regional Championship Tournaments. These young innovators, ages 9–14, designed, built, and programmed LEGO® robots to complete ocean-themed missions on a dynamic playing field.
The “SUBMERGED℠” season challenged teams to explore the mysteries of the ocean and develop imaginative solutions inspired by real-world issues beneath the surface.
More than a robotics competition, the event highlighted teamwork, innovation, and discovery—core values of the FIRST LEGO League. Visitors saw future engineers in action and were inspired by their collaboration, problem-solving, and excitement for STEM.
At Liberty Science Center, we were thrilled to provide a vibrant setting where young minds could dive deep into discovery and dream big during this incredible competition.
Congratulations to all participating teams! Until next season—keep exploring, building, and imagining what’s possible. The full list of awardees can be found on the American Robotics Open Championship website!
