LSC After Dark breaks out the slime for '90s Night event

LSC After Dark

Last night, Liberty Science Center was packed with nostalgia as we celebrated “‘90s Night,” our latest LSC After Dark event for guests 21 and over.

Many guests came dressed in unique ‘90s attire, from *NSYNC shirts to MC Hammer pants, and engaged in activities and experiments inspired by the decade.

We had a ‘90s tech take apart where people broke apart old gadgets, such as VCRs, floppy disks, and Tamagotchis, and learned about the pieces that made these devices work.

In true ‘90s Nickelodeon style, guests also experienced our Slime Lab, where they made samples of oobleck slime and even took it home with them.

But that wasn’t the only slimy portion of the night. Every hour, we held a ‘90s trivia contest, and whoever lost the content got a bucket of slime poured on their head!

More games included a pog competition in PSE&G Court and a Where’s Waldo? Game throughout the building (if guests found a Waldo, they won their very own slap bracelet, feather pen, Koosh Ball, Silly Putty, and LSC After Dark cup). Over in the Joseph D. Williams 3D Science Theater, attendees enjoyed a “Weird Al” Yankovic Laser Show.

School of Makeup Effects also joined us and gave out ‘90s makeovers (frosted and grungy).

Since the weather was so gorgeous, we also opened up our outdoor Wildlife Challenge adventure!

Guests channeled their inner Carrie Bradshaw with a drink at the Martini Bar, and even enjoyed a free Zima tasting (how’s that for ‘90s nostalgia?) courtesy of Jersey Wine and Spirits.

Midnight Market NJ returned to partner with us again and serve delicious $5 plates from local food vendors. Vendors this month included MozzArepas, Luke’s Empanadas, Taste of Poland, Eemas Cuisine, Delenio, Yani’s Bake House, Ben & Jerry’s, Eat My Balls Food Truck, Sisig City, and Moffle Bar.

All night, guests rocked out to ‘90s jams on the dance floor with our DJ, Dancing Tony. We even had a '90s dance-off! The winners won tickets to the '90s Bar Crawl event in Hoboken.
