Earlier this week, we were notified that we won the Employer Recognition Award for the Hudson County Champions Recognition Awards!

This award goes out to employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to employing and improving the life of all Hudson County residents with disabilities.

Through our partnership with Hudson Community Enterprises (HCE), which has lasted nearly ten years, approximately 100 special needs students have received employment training services at the Science Center.

Students are trained on the completion of various tasks primarily consisting of monitoring exhibits under maintenance checklists, the assembly of direct mail packages primarily for membership, assisting with administration for our Live From Surgery program, and more.

These students provide invaluable support to LSC staff members. They are passionate about their tasks, dedicated to their role as volunteers, and are consistently polite, happy, and joyful. LSC is privileged to be a job site to prepare these students to join the work force.
