LSC offers planetarium job to 9-year-old NASA applicant

LSC News

In a few months, Liberty Science Center is opening the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, which will be the biggest and best planetarium in the Western Hemisphere.

And to help us inspire the next generation of space explorers, we’ve invited 9-year-old Jack Davis to join LSC as the planetarium’s official Kid Science Advisor.

If the name “Jack Davis” sounds familiar to you, there’s a very good reason why. Jack was in the news recently for a letter he sent to NASA applying for their Planetary Protection Officer job.

Among Jack’s qualifications were that he has seen “almost all the space and alien movies” and that he is young so he “can learn to think like an alien.” Jack also referred to himself as a “Guardian of the Galaxy.”

NASA sent a letter back to the budding scientist encouraging him to study hard and do well in school so that he can join them someday.

Until Jack is old enough to be a part of NASA, we hope he’ll join us right here at Liberty Science Center! Check out our official invitation from LSC CEO and President Paul Hoffman:

And here's the letter we wrote for him:

Jack, if you’re reading this, give us a call! We can’t wait to hear from you.
