The one and only New York Knicks Center, and long-time friend of Liberty Science Center, Karl-Anthony Towns recently visited LSC alongside fiancée and socialite Jordyn Woods for a fear-facing experience unlike any other. During their visit to LSC’s Wild About Animals exhibition, the duo came face-to-face with one of their biggest fears: snakes.

Their visit was part of a special promotion for the new FOX series Fear Factor: House of Fear. Rather than simply telling audiences what to expect from the high-intensity series, Towns and Woods decided to experience the challenge firsthand by confronting several different species of snakes that call Liberty Science Center home. “I’m not the biggest fan of snakes,” KAT admitted.

With guidance and support from LSC’s expert animal keepers, the couple was introduced to a variety of resident snakes in a safe and educational environment. What began as a nerve-racking encounter quickly turned into a memorable learning experience as the pair gradually became more comfortable around the animals. By the end of the experience, they even worked up the courage to pet the snakes while blindfolded.

The visit highlighted how education and hands-on experiences can help transform fear into curiosity and appreciation for misunderstood animals. Through their experience, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods encouraged viewers to step outside of their comfort zones and discover the incredible animal residents that make Liberty Science Center such a unique destination.
