LSC's newest exhibition explores cutting-edge bee science

LSC News

There's a lot of buzz surrounding Liberty Science Center's third floor!

We recently expanded our bee exhibition, and that includes a brand new multimedia experience called Bees to Bots. As you walk through our corridor, you'll learn about the surprisingly high-tech world of bee science. See real radar gear that biologists stick onto bees, watch video clips of bug-inspired drones and robots, and pose near a wild bee photo that's 90 times larger than life.

You can also peer inside our honey bee hive to see real bees at work, busily building honeycomb and making honey. See if you can spot the queen bee!

There are still more aspects of the exhibition that are currently in progress. Soon, you'll be able to view technology that tracks the amount of honey in our live bee hives, as well as the humidity and temperature of the hives.

We'll also be putting little sensor tags on some of the bees so that scientists can learn where the bees go when they fly out into Liberty State Park.

Follow us here on the LSC blog for all the buzz!
