Spotted on the third floor of Liberty Science Center…our bee colony getting a much-needed spring cleaning!

The beekeepers stopped by today to clean out residue and scrape off old honey. Even though it rained, the beekeepers (much like the bees themselves!) remained hard at work.

Visit the Science Center anytime this spring and watch the bee colony in action – whether it be the workers converting nectar into honey, the queen laying eggs, or the larvae growing and maturing. Honey Bees: Home Is Where the Hive Is can be found on the third floor of LSC, and features an indoor observation hive as well as two field hives on the deck outside.
