Remembering the September 11 terror attacks on the 20th anniversary

LSC News

The top photo was taken 25 years ago at Liberty Science Center. That’s Sadie, a guest who enjoyed the view from the Observation Deck outside Our Hudson Home. In the photo below it, Sadie’s son now looks at the same skyline, greatly changed.

Today, on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks, Liberty Science Center remembers the victims, families, and survivors.

On that sad and shocking day, LSC served as a relief center for first responders. We salute the brave firefighters, police officers, medical technicians, and emergency workers who responded to the attacks and those who worked heroically for months at Ground Zero. To this day, guests are reminded of that event’s significance in our Skyscraper! exhibition, where a steel column from one of the World Trade Center towers can be found.

Thank you to Gayle Bernard, Sadie’s mother, for sharing these photos with us of her daughter and grandson 25 years apart.
