First grader, Devin, from PS #5 in Jersey City, had the chance to have a one-on-one interview with our very own Reptile and Amphibian Keeper, Courtney. Devin was tasked at school to interview a professional in any field and the first thing that came to mind was an animal keeper. So, he came to LSC to learn all about taking care of animals!

Devin came prepared with many questions about what it's like being an animal keeper. Courtney explained the daily operations of taking care of animals and the importance of animal enrichment.

Devin also got a close-up sneak peak of some of our animals and their different habitats. Courtney explained all of the different animals, their feeding habits, and what type of environments they live in.

Devin was ecstatic to see the animals behind-the-scenes and the amount of effort it takes to care for them. He later went on to create a school project about his interview - and he did a great job! Way to go, Devin!
