On Nov. 21, 2019, we kicked off the holiday season with games, science, drinks, and good times at LSC After Dark: Friendsgiving, our latest 21+ event!
Friendsgiving was the ultimate way for guests to come together and celebrate their friends during the season of thanks. From pie eating contests to delicious Thanksgiving treats to activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Friends TV series, it was an unforgettable evening!
Take a look back at some of the highlights from the night:
Survey says...Thanksgiving! At LSC After Dark: Friendsgiving, guests played a game of Family Feud – or as we called it, Family “That You Choose” Feud. The survey responses were all Thanksgiving-themed, such as “Stores With the Best Black Friday Sales,” “The Worst Day to Fly for Thanksgiving,” and “Favorite Thanksgiving Day Parade Float.”
Guests challenged their friends in the thrilling Thanksgiving Olympic Games! Some of the fun challenges included pulling a tablecloth without breaking any dishes and competing against each other in the armchair race.

Did you know this year is the 25th anniversary of the iconic ‘90s TV show, Friends?
In honor of the friendship they share and the laughs they’ve given us, guests enjoyed activities inspired by the legendary show. One of the activities was Friends Trivia, hosted by our pals from Trivia A.D.!
Another activity inspired by Friends was our Cookie Dissection Lab! Friends fans will remember the classic episode when Monica tries to figure out Phoebe’s grandmother’s secret cookie recipe. In honor of that episode, guests used dissecting instruments to take apart a chocolate chip cookie and figure out the ingredients!
The milk and cookie fun continued from there! In another lab, guests examined three samples of milk (fresh, refrigerated, and unrefrigerated) to learn about the bacteria found in spoiled food and beverages. Via a dropper, guests used the chemical resazurin to reveal the amount of bacteria in each of the milk samples.
What are you thankful for this holiday season? Your friends? Your pet? Your Disney+ subscription? Guests had a chance to contribute their answer on our “Thankful For” Tree!
At LSC After Dark: Friendsgiving, we held a food drive with our friends from the Interfaith Food Pantry and Resource Center. Thanks to all guests who brought Thanksgiving food to donate at the event!
Guests had a chance to make their mark on our Dining Room Chaos Station! This interactive art installation was a replica of a Thanksgiving dining room covered in paint balloons...thrown by our guests!

Friends fans know that Ross Geller is a paleontologist! In honor of David Schwimmer’s beloved character, guests sifted through gravel to look for tiny (and real!) fossils that they would get to keep. Using an identification key, guests found fossils that included shark teeth and crocodile bone.
All night, we played classic Friends episodes on our 31-foot screen in the Joseph D. Williams 3D Science Theater! Guests also had fun in our Friends Game Room playing themed board games based on the show.
Did you know we’ve found more than 4,000 planets in our exploration of planets around nearby stars? Over in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, the biggest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, guests explored beyond our solar system in search of signs of life in our new show, The Search for Life in Space.
Guests also rocked out to everyone’s favorite “California Girl” at the Katy Perry Laser Show, playing multiple times throughout the night. We were joined by the company SkyeBrowse at this month’s Innovation Station, where we show you the latest in must-see tech.
SkyeBrowse is an app that simplifies car crash investigations by the police. Guests learned how SkyeBrowse uses a drone to scan crash sites, and how the drone then relays a video, 3D model, and measurements through the app. This helps reduce the time it takes for crime scene investigation!
At our fun photo op, guests took pictures with the cast of Friends! It was so nice of all six of them to show up!
Guests also enjoyed our newest premium exhibition, Angry Birds Universe! Based on the popular Angry Birds games, this interactive adventure challenges guests with physically challenging and mentally stimulating activities.
Just a few of the exhibition’s highlights include using real slingshots to aim birds through the air, drawing and animating birds in the high-tech design studio, climbing a rock wall, and building and racing vehicles in a live version of the Angry Birds Go! kart racing game.Yum! Many guests participated in our Pie Eating Contest, held on the dance floor at the end of the night. It was so much fun to experience!
