Kids meet firefighters, Curious George and more at LSC Member Night

LSC News

Kids got to meet firefighters, police officers and other important members of their community at Liberty Science Center’s most recent Member Night on Friday, September 23.

Inspired by the beloved Curious George book “Curious George and the Firefighters,” LSC invited the Jersey City Fire Department to attend the event and teach guests about fire safety. Also in attendance were the Jersey City Police Department, the Liberty State Park Police, and a group of local Eagle Scouts who taught members about the most common and important knots used for camping.

Everyone’s favorite monkey – Curious George, of course – also made an appearance, in celebration of LSC’s new “Curious George: Let’s Get Curious!” experience. In the exhibit, visitors get to step inside the world of Curious George and participate in fun STEM-based activities that will pique the curiosity of all young learners.

Although it was a great night for monkeying around, it was also a terrific opportunity for children and families to learn more about their local community and ways to stay safe. For more information about Liberty Science Center membership, as well as details on upcoming Member Nights, click here.
