On Oct. 27, 2022, Liberty Science Center held a special event to celebrate our newest premium exhibition, Pompeii: The Immortal City.
Friends and supporters of of the Science Center joined LSC President and CEO Paul Hoffman to experience the stunning new gallery, which transports visitors back in time to 79 AD on the day Mount Vesuvius erupted near the Roman city of Pompeii.
“The glimpse we get about what life was like in a different culture almost 2,000 years ago, it’s so evocative,” said Hoffman.
The exhibition was developed and produced by Tempora in partnership with Civita, based on a concept by Museo Galileo in Florence, Italy. It features original artworks and artifacts from Pompeii, interactive mechanical devices, multimedia experiences, and the most recent archaeological finds and scientific research.
Also in attendance was Giovanni Di Pasquale, the deputy director and head of the exhibitions and events department at Museo Galileo.
“Everything in this exhibition is ready to tell you incredible stories dealing with what we call the practice of science…it is a very interesting journey through time and space,” said Di Pasquale.
