LSC’s new Sock Skating Rink debuts for 12 Days of Science
Who needs ice skating when you have SOCK SKATING?
Our 12 Days of Science celebration begins Dec. 26, and with it comes the launch of our brand new Sock Skating Rink! Made from a high-tech synthetic polymer surface, this rink isn’t made of real ice – but it is really slippery!
Earlier this week, we gave a few lucky guests an early go at the Sock Skating Rink before its official opening on Dec. 26. And the reviews are in: it’s a blast!

Experience the Sock Skating Rink during 12 Days of Science at Liberty Science Center, Dec. 26 through Jan. 1! During our annual winter celebration, you can also meet penguins, meet real reindeer, learn how to make frozen hot chocolate, send birds soaring in Angry Birds Universe, dig for fossils in Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit, and so much more.
