There’s wintry, seasonal fun happening all throughout 12 Days of Science. Every day, families will love taking a spin on our Sock Skating Rink and creating their own cool creation in the Snowflake Factory. Everyone will love our new holiday shows in the planetarium!
Each day also brings its own fun, magical theme. Take a look at the schedule:
In addition to the reindeer, today you can meet an African penguin, up close and personal! Be there for live presentations at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:00 pm. This activity is free with general admission, but due to space, we ask that guests pick up a ticket in front of the Center for Learning and Teaching an hour before the show starts in order to reserve your spot.

Every day during 12 Days of Science, be sure to also check out two of our featured exhibitions: Angry Birds Universe and Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit!
Fly into an interactive adventure based on the Angry Birds games! This exhibition takes guests of all ages into the world of Angry Birds for thrilling adventures, both physically challenging and mentally stimulating. Use real slingshots to aim birds through the air. Build and race vehicles in a live version of the Angry Birds Go! kart racing game. Draw your own bird and animate it in the high-tech design studio. Conquer the climbing wall, explore real characteristics of birds, visit the vortex and earthquake tables, and more!.
Join a curious Tyrannosaurus rex named Buddy who travels the world to discover everything there is to know about dinosaurs! Based on the Dinosaur Train TV series, the exhibition embraces and celebrates the fascination kids have with both dinosaurs and trains. Explore all three time periods during the Age of Dinosaurs (Mesozoic Era – Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous). Learn the characteristics of herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores, and how dinosaurs are classified into these groups. Interact with real and replica fossils and learn how scientists use fossils to make dino discoveries!
Oh, and one last thing! You could win a 1-year membership to LSC, free tickets, or an LSC swag bag when you enter our 12 Days of Science photo contest. All you need to do is take a photo at LSC during your visit to 12 Days, and post it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #LSC12Days.
We'll look through the submissions and pick a handful of winners once 12 Days of Science has ended! Tip: The new Sock Skating Rink is a beautiful spot for pictures!
