Newark students attend Who Claims this Climate at LSC
Today, 1st grade students from Newton Street School in Newark attended the Young Scientist Lab Workshop “Who Claims this Climate?”.
Our Young Scientist Lab Workshops foster the inquisitive nature of our budding young scientists. In this 45 minute lab, students worked as climatologists as they discovered how animals adapt by exploring different climates and the habitats found within them.
The students also had a chance to videoconference with Mickey, LSC’s green winged macaw, while exploring the climate of a tropical rainforest. Each student received a science journal to document their observations, and teachers received a pre-visit and post-visit classroom guide.
