This past weekend Liberty Science Center had some very special guests come to the science center to visit their friends who are into science and pizza! Any guesses? We had the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themselves, celebrity chef Donatella Arpaia, and the Munchmobile’s own Pete Genovese come and party with us all while learning about the science behind pizza!

Our guests got to do some really neat hands on activities while meeting the turtles in Governor’s Hall for our Science of Pizza Party. In between meeting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, our guests got to make their own healthy pizza options and learn all about nutrition in We Explore.

Then, outside of IExplore, our guests go to try their hand at pizza tossing in our pizza tossing contest with Chef Luigi. We had some real pros that made Chef Luigi look like a chef in training!

Guests got to launch ingredients onto our giant pizza!

Guests also got to use simple machines and physics in our Pie in the Sky activity! Our guests were given larger than life catapults to help try and toss additional toppings on to large pizzas to their liking; all while using physics to make creating a pizza to their liking simpler.
