There's been a murder! Inside Liberty Science Center's murder mystery party

LSC After Dark

Wow, who would have thought this many people loved murder and true crime?

Jan. 17, 2019 was LSC After Dark: Murder at the Museum 2 at Liberty Science Center! We first threw a murder mystery party back in November, but due to popular demand, we brought it back in January for another night of thrills.

The talented professionals from the Murder Mystery Co. joined us for a murder mystery written exclusively for this event! In the story, a billionaire was mysteriously murdered at the Science Center, leaving our guests tasked with figuring out whodunnit by speaking with a curious cast of characters.

One of the best parts of this event is that we had our premium exhibition, The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, available for guests to enhance their detective skills!

In this interactive adventure, visitors traveled through time to 1890s London and learned from the detective mastermind himself – Sherlock Holmes! – on how to use their powers of observation to pick up on easy-to-miss clues.

When they weren’t solving mysteries and talking to shady suspects, guests enjoyed delicious snacks courtesy of local vendors from Midnight Market, and grabbed drinks from the cocktail bar and Tito’s Martini Bar.

Our planetarium was open too, playing the show Stellar Corpses and Cosmic Mysteries – all about the mysterious entities of our universe, such as dark matter – as well as the Metallica Laser Show.

JC Oddities Market also returned this month, with vendors selling offbeat gifts, art, and jewelry.

At this event, we had multiple experiments and activities to help guests learn how scientists play a role in true crime and solve some of the most puzzling mysteries.

One of the coolest activities was the Dexter Maze! Inspired by the hit TV show Dexter, this activity challenged guests to crawl through a twisty maze of red rope.

Guests also experienced LSC’s newest exhibition, Microbes Rule! This stunning gallery shows microbes in a whole new way via trend-setting art, music, and interactive touch screens.

Over on the dance floor, DJ Menson kept the party rocking all night!
