Student participants will spend two days meeting, greeting, quizzing, challenging, conversing and dining with the Adventurer Mentors: astronauts, artists, athletes, dinosaur-wranglers, economists, engineers, entrepreneurs, Hertz Fellows, inventors, MacArthur Geniuses, six Noble Laureates (including Rita Dove), poets, programmers, public servants, Pulitzer prize winners, scientists, scholars, tech titans like Kickstarter founder Perry Chen, thought leaders, and writers.
More than 50 extraordinary professionals – from Pulitzer Prize winners and Nobel Prize recipients to cartoonists and poker players – will partner with 100 outstanding NYC/NJ area high school students.
TONIGHT, November 9, 2012
5:00 – 10:00 pm
Liberty Science Center, 222 Jersey City Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07305
At a critical time in the lives of talented teens, the program brings together exceptional individuals to inspire both students and mentors with ideas to expand horizons and fulfill potential. By providing access to excellence before teens have finalized their post-high school plans, Adventures of the Mind mentors can make a significant impact on the students’ lives and future contributions to society.
LSC’s President and CEO, Paul Hoffman, is pleased to participate in the program for the first time. His career has been dedicated to broadly and creatively communicating the fascinating ideas of STEM subjects to the public through print media, film, the Web, museums and exhibitions, scientific institutions, books, and even puzzles.
